Job Description/Summary:
The aim of the job is to give the spoiled guest on holiday a soothing impression when entering the spa area, which gives him or her the feeling of security and well-being and should be maintained during his/her entire stay in the hotel. Through personal commitment and attention, the SPA Manager conveys comfort.

MAIN AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Tasks:

Quality assurance in the entire SPA area is an urgent goal. To achieve this goal, the SPA Manager employs her staff in a way that intensity and creativity are not only demanded, but also used for the benefit of the guest.

Individual Tasks:

Planning Tasks:

• Long-term planning includes:
• Staff planning based on the annual budget set by the Director
• Planning of laundry / material needs and sales products
• Compilation of wellness arrangements in collaboration with the Marketing & Sales Department

Control tasks:

• Inventory controls (inventories, quality and price controls)
• Initiates and supervises the guest file (special guest wishes)
• Monitoring and control of supplier contracts
• Creates and monitors maintenance messages for furniture and other facilities
• Requires from stock, issue, use and control of care and sales products
• Personnel and productivity control to meet planned staff costs for the SPA area
• Controls compliance with health regulations

Decision tasks:

• Selection of new staff for the SPA area in consultation with the Director
• Product selection for care and sales products
• Compilation and calculation of the wellness arrangements in consultation with the director

Coordination tasks:

• Vacation planning at the beginning of a year
• Roster classification
• Close and collegial cooperation with the marketing & sales department, the hotel reception, the technical department, the housekeeping department, the F & B department and the personnel office

Other tasks:

• Situational leadership style, exemplary employee motivation
• Permanent review of the working methods used
• Development of simplification of work and standard of work performance from the standpoint of standardization
• Creation of checklists for quality assurance in the SPA area
• Responsible for economical material consumption, gentle and caring use of cleaning and care products and careful treatment of large and small inventory
• Purchase of small inventory, decoration material and material for room setting as well as additional instruments and equipment in consultation with the management and budget
• Report and check all necessary repairs in the SPA area
• Responsible for compliance with the agreed budgets for personnel costs, replacement purchases, use of goods and materials

Competences:
Co-decision on hiring and dismissal of employees in collaboration with Human Resources and the Directorate

Miscellaneous:
• Demands detailed occupancy forecasts, guest structure, group travel, VIP guests, arrivals, departures, short-term cancellations and events from the reception and sales department
• The post holder is well informed about in-house emergency and accident prevention policies and ensures that employees in your department also know and comply with these regulations. This is done in close co-operation with the responsible for the spa area lifeguard (for example, first aid training for spa staff).
• In addition to the tasks listed here, the SPA Manager is obliged, on the instructions of her supervisor, to carry out individual assignments that are essentially part of her job, that correspond to the job description or that result from the company's needs. Exceptions to this are body treatments and massages.
